FAQ
How long have you been a professional photographer?
I have over ten years experience working as a professional photographer. My focus has always been people, whether portraiture, events, or weddings. Weddings are the perfect preparation to train you to be ready to anticipate reactions, and be skilled to quickly change your camera settings to adapt to light changes.
I photographed my first birth last year and it was a complete game changer!
When should I book?
Get in touch as soon as you know your due date to check my availability. I limit the number of births I photograph to two each month.
To book you will need to pay the £200.00 booking fee to secure your due date.
The remaining balance will be due at our 37-week consultation.
It's possible to set-up a payment plan to pay in smaller instalments, without any additional cost.
What kind of gear do you use?
I'm a Canon girl. I currently use 2 x Canon 5D Mark III. Prime lenses are my favourite. I always pack my 35mm f1.4L, 50mm f1.2L, 85mm f1.8, macro 100mm f2.8L. I have both flash and video lights if I need to add some extra light in extreme low-light situations. If possible, I try to keep to available light only.
What if you miss a birth, get sick or have an emergency?
Your birth is the most important entry in my diary. I'll be staying close to home during my own call period for you, ready to pick up my bag and get to you. If I am ill or have an emergency, I’d call my backup to attend the birth.
During our consultation we'll go through the most likely scenarios. The birth contract I ask all clients to sign will give you extra assurance that I have an action plan for every eventuality.
When I make a commitment to be at your birth, it will take a lot to get in the way of that happening!
Do I have to order prints through you?
At least one print is included in all my packages. You can order more prints or framed prints through your online gallery. I use Loxley to process your orders as they provide the best quality prints.
Alternatively, you can download individual photos, or the full collection from your gallery. You'll have the full resolution digital files and will be able to print the photos through your preferred printer.
